The second seminar "Local Development and European Integration" was held from 22 till 24 June 2012 at Zlatibor. Good management of the local community, the importance of SMEs for the local economic development, comparative analysis of Serbian and EU agriculture policy, the possibilities for organic farming in order to strengthen the competitiveness of small farms on the market were some of the topics discussed at the seminar. Great interest among the participants triggered topics like prevention of corruption in the local communities, regulatory and tax reforms, as well as public sector reforms and public private partnership.

Reg 5.2.1As in the first part of the project a special program part was devoted to common reflections and definition of thematic areas for future inter-municipal cooperation activities and implementation of joint projects.

Participants showed great interest for the topics from the seminar agenda. Mutual communication within the group, and interactivity with speakers was very intense and productive. All participants received hard copy readers and handouts that follow a thematic areas of the seminar program and which will be useful for the participants to consult when needed in the future.

The next two seminars will be held during October and November 2012. All participants, who regularly attend project activities, will be awarded with diplomas/certificates of the Belgrade Fund for Political Excellence, as a confirm that they have successfully completed this seminar cycle.
